Salina’s 17th Annual E-Waste Recycling Event

The City of Salina will host its 17th annual E-Waste Recycling Event on Saturday, May 3, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Berkley Family Recreational Area, located at 841 Markley Road.

This year, the event will once again partner with the Salina Emergency Aid Food Bank, which will be on-site to collect donations of non-perishable food items and personal hygiene products.

What is E-Waste?
E-waste refers to outdated or obsolete consumer electronics that should be disposed of properly. Examples include:

Computers and laptops
-Televisions (CRT, LCD, LED, Plasma, and Projection)
-Phones and cameras
-Gaming systems
-Microwaves and other small appliances
Properly recycling electronics helps conserve valuable resources like aluminum, copper, gold, silver, and ferrous metals, while also keeping harmful materials such as mercury, lead, and cadmium out of landfills.

Who Can Participate?
The event is open to all Saline County residents, businesses, and organizations. Nearly any item with a cord or battery will be accepted—with a few exceptions.

Fees for Certain Items:
While most items can be recycled free of charge, the following fees will apply:

$40 – CRT TVs, CRT Computer Monitors, Wood Console TVs, Projection TVs
$10 – LCD, LED, and Plasma TVs & Computer Monitors

Event Traffic Instructions:
Enter from Markley Road at the water tower
Follow cones and signage to the drop-off site
Remain in your vehicle while staff unloads your items and donations
Exit onto Markley Road near Dean Evans Stadium
Due to the event’s popularity, attendees should expect delays during morning hours.
