Faith. Fun. Friendships. Experience it all this summer at Camp L.I.T. !

Here we offer a safe place for foster, foster-adopted and at-risk youth to enjoy being a child and for them to learn to grow as a person, leader and friend. Applications are due one-week prior to camp.

WHO CAN ATTEND CAMP?

Teens ages 12-18, who are in Foster Care, adopted from Foster Care and At-Risk youth.

 WHERE IS CAMP L.I.T.?

We prefer to keep the exact location limited to only those that must know. This is for the safety and confidentiality of the campers. Caseworkers or guardians can be provided this information if deemed necessary. We will let you know it is near Manhattan, KS.

 HOW LONG IS CAMP?

Each camp is four days (early Thursday morning through late Sunday afternoon).

WHAT DOES CAMP COST?

The cost for the camper to attend is FREE! We are a non-profit organization and fundraise year-round to be able to offer camps, the mentoring programs, and the social events free of charge to our attendees.

IS TRANSPORTATION PROVIDED?

Transportation is not guaranteed, but we are actively working on a volunteer-based team to help meet this need. If you require transportation, please contact your teen's Case Manager/Social Worker first, then email director@camplit.org for further assistance.

Additionally, if you are able to bring your teen and are able to assist with transporting other teens who may need transportation assistance in your area, please also email director@camplit.org.

WHAT ACTIVITIES ARE AVAILABLE AT CAMP?

Activities include but are not limited to: archery, kayaking/canoeing, hiking, fishing, sports, water activities, challenge course, and so much more. The challenge course is an integral part of Camp L.I.T. as this is a place where campers are challenged to greater trust and teamwork. They have fun and it allows them to connect more quickly to their fellow campers and coaches.

WHAT IS THE SUPERVISION LIKE AT CAMP?

Coaches are responsible to know where their campers are at all times. Campers are paired with coaches in a 1-to-2 ratio. Coaches are paired with a buddy coach who will also have up to 2 campers. Campers are not permitted to go off on their own. Additionally, there is a two-deep rule that no adult is ever alone with a camper. Additional support staff is provided guaranteeing the campers are never alone except for shower time and toilet use.
